The Kafe King
Stevens Calixte esq., is a New York artist & visual designer. He is best known as one of the founding fathers of the eclectic street fashion brand A.L.I.E.N. NYC. As the popularity of the brand grew, more and more viewers worldwide became aware of his unique creative style as well as his artistic abilities. His works has been featured in various pop culture publications & media such as Trace Magazine, Mtv, & Complex Magazine. He is regarded as one of the artists that help change the history of New York's street fashion scene and played a deep influential role in the diversity of the underground arts culture. The popularity of his collective’s influence in the New York night life scene drew major attention world wide developing relationships with popular Japanese and French Dj’s & artists. In 2010, he became a part of the art collective Konogo Mix and launched Visions.18 as an online platform, or what he calls his "online sketchbook", to express his many art forms and as a means to keep his growing fan base up to date with his latest works. The Gotham Kafe was a project he created intended to bring various underground artists to socialize and exhibit their arts. It was here unrecognized and/or underrated artists came together to meet not only fellow artists but their supporters as well.
His love of indigenous art, world cultures as well as his Haitian decent background, plays a major influence in his designing. Stevens studied various world arts and philosophies including Buddhism, Native American, Tibetan, Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Japanese Manga, Indian & Caribbean art. His most recent endeavors include cartooning and the release of his first graphic novel Key Master, a short story about a young kid who finds the key to unlimited doors.
